The Nonprofit Evaluation Support Program, or NESP for short, aims to increase the program evaluation capacity of nonprofit organizations, with a particular emphasis on those organizations in the Piedmont Triad Region of North Carolina. We understand the critical need for program evaluation activities to study the current functioning of organizations, to identify ways in which organizations may be improved, and to provide data to inform the extent to which organizations are meeting their intended outcomes. We help nonprofit organizations implement program evaluation activities and develop the necessary capacity to sustain such activities over time.
NESP is a partnership between the SERVE Center and the Office of Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Services (OAERS) of the Department of Educational Research Methodology (ERM) at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). NESP works closely with the Guilford Nonprofit Consortium to identify the most effective approaches to serve nonprofit organizations in the region, and the delivery of NESP services is supported by UNCG’s Institute for Community and Economic Engagement.
Leveraging the extensive expertise in program evaluation of the SERVE Center and ERM allows NESP to offer exceptional evaluation services to a broad range of organizations. NESP service delivery is also supported by ERM Masters and Doctoral students who join NESP project teams to gain valuable applied, hands-on learning experiences in program evaluation. In this manner, NESP helps strengthen nonprofit organizations while providing authentic learning experiences for future leaders in the field of program evaluation.
